These wool hand-tufted area rugs are manufactured using a tool known as a “tufting gun.” Loops of wool are pressed through a backing that’s been printed using the overall pattern of the rug. Once the rug maker finishes this procedure, an additional base, known as a scrim, is used with latex adhesive. Once this cures, the last protective fabric backing is put on.

The final phase is to shear the area rug to ensure that all the loops on top of the carpet are cut, producing the pile.
Hand-tufted area rugs can stand up to excessive foot traffic and will start to wear out after approximately 20 years of use. Heavy traffic locations include areas like corridors, living rooms, and entrances. Moderate traffic locations incorporate the dining area and home office workplace. Lower traffic locations include bedrooms and formal living rooms.
