Put sufficient white vinegar to saturate the spot then add a modest amount of baking soda. you can listen to the recipe cackling away, letting you know how it’s cleansing and deodorizing without having to leave any remains.
Removing Pet Stains on Carpet
Cover the area using a dish or plate. You can in fact begin to see the yellow-colored color becoming soaked up into the small pile of baking soda. You should allow the spot dry for a couple of days prior to sweeping up and vacuuming.
Works on older unsightly stains as well!
Other Carpet Stain Remover ideas:
1. Never buy OxiClean again! The mixture is 1 tsp. Dawn dishwashing detergent 3-4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide couple of tablespoons of baking soda. Scrub on with a scrubbing brush.
2. For a Degreaser – 4 tablespoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of rubbing alcohol. You want the mixture to be a paste rather than a liquid. Once you mix together the salt and rubbing alcohol, rub it into your carpet in the direction of the nap of the carpet. Wait for the carpet to dry and then vacuum up the excess salt.
NOTE from Sandy: This is the natural way that we clean carpets. It works well and we have used it in our carpet workroom and store. We have had store doggies and trained puppies in our store and used this method for many messes. If you want a recommendation on products that you can buy, the 2 that we have used over the years are Woolite Oxyclean and Capture, both can be found at Lowes. Please email me if you have any questions or a problem. I would be happy to help you through it.
